Cooley Auctions dominated the Real Estate Institute of NSW (REINSW) Awards for Excellence Auctioneers category held yesterday (26 June 2012) when the company took out three of the four finalists positions in the competition that recognizes the highest level of expertise in auctioneering.
Cooley Auctions Director Damien Cooley was thrilled with the result. “This is a tremendous outcome that reaffirms the enormous level of skill, experience and professionalism that our auctioneers are known for, and really reinforces our position as being some of the best auctioneers in the country. I’m so proud of the team, especially Paul Millett and Andrew Cooley who both join me as a finalist”, said Mr Cooley.
The competition required entrants to conduct a mock live auction in front of a panel of judges after being given seven days to familiarize themselves with the property – a four bedroom, two storey architecturally-designed Victorian residence in Mullens Street, Balmain that sold for $3,480,000. According to the REINSW, competitors were judged against a range of criteria including their description of the property, ability to handle the bidding, correctly answering bidders’ questions and overall presentation.
The winner of the competition will be announced at the 2012 REINSW Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner to be held in October.
Operating across the Eastern Suburbs, North Shore, Northern Beaches, Inner West, South West, Illawarra, and St George, Sutherland Shire and Hills District, Cooley Auctions is Sydney’s leading independent auctioneering company. Now in its tenth year it has a team of eight auctioneers who all meet the brand’s profile for being a young, extremely energetic and highly professional team of auctioneers.
