Cooley Auctions expands into the Sutherland Shire and St George markets

Sydney’s leading independent auctioneering company Cooley Auctions have announced its expansion into the St George, Southerland Shire and Hills District in anticipation of what they have tipped to be a year ahead of exceptional growth in the real estate market.

Cooley Auctions Director Damien Cooley described 2009 as an excellent year of growth. “Last year we performed exceptionally well conducting a personal record of 2560 auctions and taking our market share in the Sydney metropolitan area up to 14 per cent. Real Estate market begins with a bang in 2010

It’s no secret that the residential real estate market has been extremely strong in the first quarter of 2010. We have seen clearance rates increase dramatically and the volume of Property hitting the market has improved out of sight. Cooley Auctions conducted 182 auctions in February and may reach a record 400 auction bookings for the month of March 2010. With the sharp increase in properties hitting the market, the question is, will the market hold strong and quality results continue? I believe it will. We have had many of our auctions selling for between 10 – 20% above reserve and can report an increase in properties selling prior to auction. Buyers are feeling a sense of urgency in the market and are therefore resorting to making strong offers early in the sales campaign to entice vendors to sell prior to auction. Of the 52 auctions that were booked for Saturday 27th February, 18 of these properties sold prior to auction. In many instances these offers should be taken and they have been, but the most important part of this transaction is how the selling agent handles the offer, more info.
