Record month of auctions brings outstanding results

November was an action packed month for Cooley Auctions and delivered some exceptional sales results. Our volume increased to 335 auctions and our Sydney metro market share reached 15%. The residential market has performed extremely well over the last few weeks. The Inner West led the charge with an 81% clearance rate through November.

We have reported some exceptional results through the month with a number of standouts. Our In Room auction venue at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Coogee for Ray White Real Estate saw a boom time like atmosphere, selling 18/19 for the evening. Most properties sold above reserve but 75 Holmes Street Maroubra, marketed by Ray White Randwick, was a standout result selling for $970,000 which was more than 25% over its written reserve.

Only last night a two bedroom apartment on Obrien Street Bondi Beach marketed through Raine & Horne Bondi Beach agent Mary Anne Cronin & Hannan Bouskila, sold for $702,000 after it was bought in 2007 for $515,000 with no improvements made. Its results like these that drive a market and with record numbers of registered bidders attending our auctions we believe it is set to continue. Our clients are reporting that everything is selling and it seems that the pre Christmas rush is here in a big way. With not much carry over stock expected in 2010 we predict the start of the new year to be very strong for residential real estate. It will be a very opportunistic time for vendors that choose to sell in February and March and our auction bookings are already suggesting that we will hit the ground running.
