The property market proves its strength in a bumper week of auctions

Cooley Auctions witnessed a vibrant surge in the residential property market during the last week of September, auctioning 128 properties with a clearance rate of 75 per cent.

After achieving exceptional results on what the media has dubbed Super Saturday, Cooley Auctions backed up on the last Wednesday of September to Ray White Auctions held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Coogee selling 24 of the 25 properties listed. A standout result included a property at 47 Moverly Road, Maroubra that sold for $1.475 million – more than $200,000 over its written reserve.

Another highlight of the week included a sale by Cooley Auctions’ Paul Millett of a block of apartments at 51 Moore Park Road, Centennial Park, marketed through Ray White Paddington/Woollahra, for $2 million – a massive $500,000 over its written reserve. (read more)

Cooley Auctions’ newest recruit makes the REINSW Novice Auctioneers Competition finals

Earlier this month Andrew Cooley, Cooley Auctions’ newest recruit, proved he has what it takes to be a first-class auctioneer after conducting a brilliant auction in the East division of the REINSW Novice Auctioneers Competition – taking him through to the state finals to be held in November.

Competitors were charged with the task of auctioning a prize valued at over $80. The judging criteria included the auctioneer’s ability to effectively describe the item being auctioned with confidence and poise, their control of the bidding and correct use of the gavel. (read more)
